reddot error # -1 · Mar 9, 02:30 pm

for the non-technical – please excuse this.

when you get the following error:

BuildPage_PreExecute: Request: ERROR#-1, Server returns with error 500: Internal Server Error (ErrorLine:0)

it means one of a few things:

  1. most likely you have preexecute tags nested.
  2. you have a problem with your ASP and your arguments are not agreeing
  3. i have seen this occur when a page is not created properly or gets corrupted. this can happen during editing or moving a page. very rare.

best course of action to resolve:

  1. if you have made template edits recently – or connected an infrequently used template, check your template code.
  2. if you have made a seemingly simple change – remove page elements one at a time or recreate the page somewhere else in the site and connect the content / container elements to this page.
